Welcome to CRAFTING 101
The first thing is to determine what YOUR account needs, not the kin. It all depends on the class of character(s) you have or will have. Armour is a big consideration, and the type also. We will not discuss the interactive correlations between crafts, Use Wiki for that: Lotro/Wiki/Crafting
We will also not discuss the weapons/other gear you can use nor the stats associated with your class/race. there are too many variables. We can discuss in kinchat some options available to you.
There are 7 VOCATIONS and 10 PROFESSIONS involved with them. Each vocation/craft has 3 professions associated with them.
EXAMPLE: Explorer = TAILOR (main) forester(support)prospector (support)
The tailor makes light and medium armour from leathers.
The forester processes raw hides into leathers. He can also gather logs and process them.
The prospector mines ores from the landscpe nodes. He is not involved with light/medium armour crafting.
YOUR CRAFTING PANEL.........T........
Whatever craft you pick the main profession MUST be completed for both proficiency and mastery, for 2- 1/2 tiers (apprentice,journeyman,1/2- expert). When you finish the proficiency half of expert you have to do a quest in order to advance.Keep a watch on your processing, you will waste materials if you walk away.NOTE: ALL craft facilities are now superior, they never changed the quest at 1/2 expert tier.
The support professions may be advanced with only the proficiency half done. This allows you to quickly be able to pick up/process higher and higher level items. We will help you get stuff above your level.
Each craft has a ....processing... recipe. This saves you from having to make individual items for craft experience. The processing recipe burns the items up, We will get you more. There are also buffs to use to gain extra craft experience
