Legendary Weapon IMbuement

You wish to imbue your Legendary Weapon, well we have summarized all the guides and used our own experience.

  1. Legacies

    1. Some legacies change after you imbue which means it is important you have the correct legacies on your weapon. Here is the link and each class is listed there; https://lotrotools.pw/legacies.php . To replace a legacy you need to deconstruct a legendary weapon so it is wise you slot all your slots with legendary weapons and start levelling them. If you only need a major legacy then you level your bogus weapon to 30 and at deconstruct, you can then choose one major legacy that is active for that weapon. If you are looking for a minor legacy then you need to level it to 60. Rule of thumb is that a major can never replace a minor but a minor can replace a major. All weapons are randomly slotted with specific major legacies. Some legacies you can buy with skirmish currency so pay Daegoth a visit at Ost Galadh in Mirkwoord or Rafkell at Harndirion in Enedwaith. Remember that deconstructing at level 60 provides more items i.e. multiple relics, runes, legendary shards etc.

  2. Relics

    1. You can slot three relics and the fourth is a crafted relic. Most relics you create with the Relic-master. For the craft relic there are multiple to choose from; https://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Category:Crafted_Relics . Remember that you craft an item and then you trade it in with your guild master and then you open the container with a Relic-master but it depends on what you want.

  3. Before you imbue (pay attention that you use only scrolls and items for your Level 100 Legendary Weapon);

    1. I would invest time and energy into getting a 1st age weapon, ask the Kinship for assistance since it can be crated.

    2. Apply a Anfalas Scroll of Delving which adds 10 extra levels and then max out your weapon to level 70.

    3. Use a Anfalas Crystal of Remembrance to unlock a 7th legacy slot.

    4. As stated above, organized your relics and legacies as you wish.

    5. Add three Anfalas Star-lit Crystals to apply DPS upgrade + add passive stats to your weapon.

    6. Get all your legacies to Tier 6, this is done with levelling your weapon + using Anfalas Scrolls of Empowerment.

    7. Add a title, preferably a III which can be quested for, bought with currency etc. https://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Legendary_Titles

  4. Imbue time;

    1. Once you imbue there is no turning back, you are bound to this weapon and it cannot be deconstructed. You can toss it in the river but why oh why would you do that!

    2. The new legacy tier soft cap can be seen innyour legendary item view but can be raised with mithril coins or Anfalas Scrolls of Empowerment.

    3. Your XP earned will now be applied to your legendary weapon thus it becomes stronger and you will increase your tiers for your legacies.

    4. You can use runes to raise your tiers faster.

    5. You can use Imbued Legacy Replacement Scrolls to replace legacies.

    6. The DPS tier can only be raised with mithrol coins or/and Anfalas Star-lit Crystals.

  5. Consumables

    1. Scrolls of Renewal resets all points spent on legacies. You can barter for these, quest for them or buy them with shards at your local Relic-master.

    2. Anfalas Scroll of Empowerment to upgrade tiers on your legacies. You can barter for there and quest for them, three from epic quests.

    3. Legacy Replacement Scrolls to replace a legacy with the one specified by the scroll, of course you need a scroll that fits the level of the weapon. Check #1 above for additional info.

    4. Anfalas Star-lit Crystals to increase DPS rating and passive stats. You can barter for these with Stars of Merit only and you get three from quests, two of these are epic quests + The First Blade.

    5. Anfalas Scroll of Delving to add 10 more levels to your weapon. You can barter for these or quest for it, one from an epic quest.

    6. Legendary Title Scrolls to add passive stats. Check #2-f above for additional info.

    7. Heritage Runes to add XP. Easy to get as drops from mobs, refining relics with your local Relic-master, deconstructing a legendary item of minimum level 11, barter for them, boss chests, deed rewards etc.

    8. Anfalas Crystal of Remembrance to add an additional legacy slot. Extremely rare and you get one from an epic quest but they can drop from level 96-100 instance boss chests.

    9. Relic Removal Scrolls to remove a relic to your inventory. Crafted/Emblem relics cannot be returned. You can buy it in the LOTRO store, lottery prize, it can drop from scaled dungeon chests, found inside lootboxes or as a rewards from hobbit presents.

    10. Imbued Legacy Replacement Scrolls to replace legacies on imbued weapons. You can buy it in the LOTRO store and earn it as a quest reward where two quests are epic.

If you have followed the guide and after you imbue you wish to max out your weapon immediately to hard cap, then it will approximately cost you;

  • 28 Anfalas Scrolls of Empowerment or 1,092 mithril coins or a combination since mithril coins do not grow on trees.

  • 3 Anfalas Star-lit Crystals.

  • Roughly 7,950,000 in XP runes or  a container of mithril coins or a combination since mithril coins do not grow on trees.

Supreme Essence Armor

So you have finally realized that you reached end game and do not know what to do. You want the best armor but do not want to run fellowships or raids constantly. Fear no more, here is the guide to get slotted essence armor, which you can do all by your lonesome.

Before we kick off let’s just say that this will take time and require a boatload of patience and planning.

You need to have high reputation with Dol Amroth, Rangers of Ithilien and Defenders of Minas Tirith. What I did was do all quests possible in Gondor and completed all Epics + turned in daily tasks. You need to do this because many quest rewards are coins that you need (Dol Amroth Silver Pieces, East Gondor Silver Pìeces and Minas Tirith Silver Pieces) as well as essences that you need for crafting (major) and can use (greater, supreme).

First you need to choose which armor you want. There are different slotted armors and some are easy to get, some are extremely hard.

  • Hardest

    • Quartermaster in Osgiliath culvets for a 6 piece armor with 5 essence slots, however, they cost 20 Morgul Crests a piece and these can only be obtained through quests located in fellowship instances within Osgiliath: Sunken Labyrinth, The Dome of Stars and The Ruined City.

  • Average

    • Dol Amroth Quartermasters for 6 piece armor with 4 essence slots. The total cost is 80 Gold Tokens of Dol Amroth and 80 Silver Tokens of Dol Amroth. This is fairly easy once you get the reputation to max which is acquaintance. I recommend you raise at least a couple of reputations. There are a total of 8 factions; Bank, Docks, Armoury, Great Hall, Library, Mason, Warehouse and Swan-Knights. To raise the reputation you need faction tokens and these you get from running daily quests for the different factions, see map below. When you have finished a daily (max six) you complete it by talking to the NPC that gave you the quest and you receive a box that either give faction tokens or silver tokens. The good thing is that there is a currency vendor where you can trade Silver Tokens and Faction Tokens for other Faction Tokens. Once your reputation on at least once faction is at acquaintance you talk to Beriaudur who gives you the training exercise quest. This will take you to an instance and there you speak to the faction NPC that you wish to run an exercise for. Once you have chosen a faction you will receive 7 quests that give you 1 Gold Token each and a faction box that contains either Silver Tokens or Faction Tokens. Complete them all and then leave the instance.

  • Easy

    • Minas Tirith has two fellowships called Smiths’ and Builders’ which can provide a 6 piece armor with 3 essence slots. If you want to invest time then you are chosing the easy way out. You need to run daily quests around Pelennor fields and you pick up the quests from the two NPCs inside Minas Tirith, Narnaith and Londir. You need to run both factions to get the complete set and each piece costs 30 tokens. You can also buy major essences which you need for crafting, they cost 15 tokens a piece.

I have all these extra Faction Tokens and I do not know what to do with them?

The good thing is, if you are missing a major essence which is an ingredient to craft a supreme, then you can buy them with Faction Tokens at the Essence Vendor. The only bad thing is that you buy a box that specializes on a range of stats and the box will randomly contain one major essence.

You can also buy other items with both Gold-, Silver- and Faction Tokens, just talk to the different vendors.

As seen below, the red ring represents where you start your armor quest and where all the vendors are located. The blue ring is for a daily fishing quests that gives you 5 Amroth Silver Pieces.

To craft essences you need multiple ingredients that are a pain to farm. The toughest one is the emerald shard, therefore we will first focus on guiding you for these. If you want a supreme essence then you first need a journal to increase the critical craft rate which requires a shard as well as when you craft the essence itself you need a shard.

How do I get these shards?

The easiest way is to farm them by prospecting. The drop rate is extremely low but you get a lot of ore that you can see in the auction hall or use to raise your crafting experience. There are two areas that have a low amount of aggression mobs;

  1. Lamedon – only warbands, the lizards in northwest and the bandit encampment agro. The hogs will warn you before attacking

  2. Entwood – there are multiple mobs that agro but it is a pleasant place to farm

You can also buy them at the auction hall but then you pay between 12-20 gold pieces per shard.

The second toughest ingredient to make an essence is Universal Solvent. These are extremely rare and can only be obtained in the following ways;

  1. LOTRO Store, 1 for 40 points, 5-pack for 175 points and 25-pack for 700

  2. Random drop in Eorlingas iron-bound lootbox

  3. Very rare landscape drop, killing mobs

  4. You get 1 for free from quest “Missing in the Marshes”

Before we review the craft process, let’s finalized the coin farming and during the guide for crafting you will understand why you need so much coin.

Amroth Silver Pieces

These are fairly easy. As seen on map above, there is a daily fishing quest in Dol Ameroth. The remaining coin you need to farm from Warbands. You can solo all these by kiting them on your horse. As seen below, total of 7 warbands, I have marked them on the map (thanks to Dennis). If you have never hunted war bands, the best hint is to check your map since they will have a dark red arrow when within range.

East Gondor Silver Pieces

These take place right outside and within Osgiliath. The best way to get to these is to take a ride with a swift horse to “Faramir’s Lookout”. If you go straight north from there then you have two daily quests.

  1. One of them activates by destroying a siege weapon which will then ask you to destroy more.

  2. One of them activates when you kill a Mumakil which will then ask you to kill 3 more. This quest is extremely hard to solo but I managed to solo withy a lot of effort and tactic.

For Osgiliath it gets a little tricky. The best way to get to the culvert is as seen below. Do not fight your way in, instead get on your horse and ride like the wind!

Well inside the culvert there are numerous quest providers. You should grab the six quests that focus on non-instance action. If they are not offered it means you have “other” quests to complete before they appear. Remember I said to complete all quests in Gondor region. These quests should provide East Gondor Silver Pieces and consist of;

  1. Find supplies

  2. Kill executioners

  3. Kill Easterlings

  4. Find blades and armor

  5. Kill trolls on bridge (it will inform you when you are at the right place on the bridge)

  6. Kill orcs and burn rafts

As seen below, I made a map of the way I run to complete the quests as quickly as possible.

  1. Red line is where you start when you exit the culverts, I try to avoid mobs as much as possible to gain speed in completing the quests.  Red line and blue line is for the supplies.

  2. Where the blue line ends there is a podium that you can stand on. There you can pull executioners and well as Easterlings.

  3. If you for some reason have Easterlings left to slay, the beginning of the green line is where to kill these.

  4. The green- as well as the purple line is for blades and armor.

  5. The yellow line is for the trolls.

  6. The dark red line is for orcs and rafts. Be careful when you swim since it will punish you with 2000 morale every few seconds.

  7. The orange line is your way back to the culverts on your horse and do not stop for coffee.

Minas Tirith Silver Pieces

These take place on the fields of Pelennor but more precisely at the north- and south gate. The north gate can be reached by swift horse but the south gate can only be reached by riding across the fields.

First you talk to Londir in Minas Tirith (he is close to the Great Gate) and receive the quest “Assisting the Builders’ Fellowship”, then you goto the north gate where there is a NPC named Ingold who provides you with a quest called “Retaking the Northern Rammas” which provides you with 5 quests. After accepting all 5 you travel to an instance and complete these.

Secondly you talk to Narnaith in Minas Tirith (he is close to the Great Gate) and receive the quest “Assisting the Smiths’ Fellowship”, then you goto the south gate where there is a NPC named Turgon who provides you with a quest called “Dredging a Path of Aragorn” which provides you with 5 quests. After accepting all 5 you travel to an instance and complete these.

Crafting Essences

First of all, maybe you have used some essence and you want to extract it, how do you do that? Then you need an Essence Reclamation Scroll and these are not cheap but there are multiple choices. One scroll extracts all essences in the armor price or jewelry;

  • 3,500 Marks, 350 Medallions, 1 Seal

  • 150 Amroth Silver Pieces

  • 150 Minas Tirith Silver Pieces

  • 150 Stars of Merit

  • 200 East Gondor Silver Pieces

  • 200 Spring Leaves

  • 200 Farmers Faire Tokens

  • 180 Festival Tokens

  • 80 Summer Festival Tokens

  • 295 Turbine Points in the LOTRO Store

We will use one essence as an example and then you have to review the essences you need from the provided link; https://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Essence

Important to remember, there are essences that cannot be crafted and are drop only (from platinum boxes in Big Battles, turning in Factions Tokens at the Dol Amroth Essence vendor as well as fellowship instances i.e. outside Morlad in West Gondor), so these you have to find or buy at expensive rates from the Auction Hall.

  1. Resistance

  2. Power

  3. Parrying

  4. Morale

  5. Incoming Healing

  6. Evasion

  7. Blocking

Let’s craft an Essence of Might and we want it as Supreme due to the fact that is top notch as seen below;

  • Default is Major Essence of Might which gives +119

  • The Crafted version is called Greater Essence of Might which gives +136

  • When you craft and you crit it will be called Supreme Essence of Might which gives +139 as well as +17 in Vitality. Almost all Supremes come with the little extra spice.

How does it work, well, first of all you need the recipe. These are all “Only One Use” so if you want 4 Supreme Essences of Might you need 4 Greater Essence of Might recipes. This is where your coin will help. I will summarize it all below.

  • 50-75 Amroth Silver Pieces from the Dol Amroth Quartermaster in Dol Amroth

  • 50-75 East Gondor Silver Pieces from the Rangers of Ithilien Quartermaster in Bar Hurin, Osgiliath Culverts and Arnach

  • 30-45 Minas Tirith Silver Pieces from Defenders of Minas Tirith Quartermaster in Minas Tirith

So to succeed in making a Greater Essence, in this case Might, you need the following ingredients as well as where do you find these ingredients?

  • 1 Universal Solvent

    • Buying them at the Auction Hall

    • Rare Drop

    • LOTRO Store, different offers

  • 3 High-grade Eorlingas Ingot (these are standard created prospector ingots or buy them at Auction Hall)

  • 1 Major Essence of Might

    • 10 Token Coins give you an Essence box from the Essence Quartermaster in Dol Amroth

    • Buying them at the Auction Hall

    • 500 Marks at Skirmish Camps

    • 30 Minas Tirith Smiths’ Tokens from Smiths’ Fellowship in Minas Tirith

    • 15 Minas Tirith Builders’ Tokens from Builder’s Fellowship in Minas Tirith

  • 1 Emerald Shard

    • Farming them as shown above in an earlier topic (also works for Walnut Branches and Adorned Chests)

    • Buying them at the Auction Hall

    • 312 Marks and 148 Medallions at Skirmish Camps

    • 150 Westemnet Iron Coins from The Helmingas Quartermaster at Helm’s Deep or Aldburg

    • Westemnet Farmer Crop Fields

    • Silver Box of Westfold Spoils

    • Silver Box if Eastfold Spoils

    • Green Box of Eastfold Spoils

To succeed in making a Supreme Essence, in this case Might, you need the following optional ingredient that provides a +35% critical chance;

  • 1 Westemnet Metalsmith’s Journal

Vital to remember is that you can increase critical chance with, make sure the crafter has this;

  • Proficient in the crafting tier +5%

  • Crafting tools +25% (Superior tools)

  • Scholar made crafting lore scrolls +14%

This journal is crafted by a Scholar and for the Scholar to succeed you need to provide the recipes. These are all “Only One Use” so if you want 4 Supreme Essences of Might you need 4 Westemnet Metalsmith’s Journal recipes. This is where your coin will help. For every journal you also need to provide an emerald shard. The additional ingredients should be covered by the scholar since they are generic. The journal recipes can be bought with the following currency;

  • 20 Westemnet Iron Coins from The Helmingas Quartermaster at Helm’s Deep or Aldburg

  • 25 Minas Tirith Silver Pieces from Defends of Minas Tirith Quartermaster at Minas Tirith
